Unified Champion Schools Event – May 20
We’re excited to share that Three Fires will host a special Unified Champion Schools event on Tuesday, May 20th from 9:30–11:00 AM at our school track. This event includes students from our Cognitively Impaired (CI) program and their TIES—peer buddies who support them through our Peer to Peer program. TIES are general education students who partner with CI students to help build friendships, encourage participation, and promote inclusion throughout the school day. Families of participating students have already received an invitation to come and cheer during the event. It will be a fun and meaningful morning filled with outdoor games, teamwork, and community spirit! If you have any questions, please contact Olivia Newcomb at [email protected] or Lindsay Cieslak at [email protected].

Counselor’s Corner: Ms. Nemeth
Summer is just around the corner, and we know it can be helpful to have activities and resources ready to keep kids engaged, active, and supported during the break. I’ve put together a Summer Resource Sheet filled with free and low-cost opportunities for children and families in our community. From fun events and reading programs to meal support and enrichment activities, there’s something for everyone. I hope this helps make your summer a little smoother and a lot more fun! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or need additional support.
The Highlander Reading Express Rolls Into Summer!
The Highlander Reading Express is back for another summer of fun and reading! The Highlander Reading Express is the district's mobile library that brings books directly into our community, helping students stay connected to learning all summer long. Families are encouraged to stop by, explore the selection, and pick out books to enjoy at home. For the full schedule and stop locations, visit HowellSchools.com/ReadingExpress.
May Celebrating Awareness Themes
Our May Celebrating Awareness themes are Mental Health Awareness Month and Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This optional program is open to all students and aims to raise awareness, foster empathy, and inspire action by encouraging students to express themselves, reflect, and grow through creativity.
