#PackPride
Mrs. Harris, a dedicated Paraprofessional at Three Fires, has been named the 2024-2025 Howell Public Schools Support Person of the Year! She pours her heart into helping students grow, gain independence, and feel included. Her calm, steady presence and the strong relationships she builds make a difference every day. Mrs. Harris was completely surprised when Superintendent MacGregor, district reps, her family, and staff snuck into her classroom to celebrate. Congratulations, Mrs. Harris! We are so grateful for your dedication, patience, and kindness.

Music Elective Choice for Incoming Sixth Graders
On March 10, 2025, Dr. Poelke and Dr. Moore had the pleasure of speaking with all incoming 6th-grade students to introduce them to middle school and explain how it works. One of the topics discussed was the choice between Band and Choir. Your 5th-grade student will have the opportunity to request Band, Choir, or neither for the upcoming school year. 5th-grade teachers will share a Google Form with students during the school day to make their selection. If you were unable to attend the presentation, the building slideshows are listed below.

2025-2026 Placement Consideration Form
The Howell elementary schools have a process that allows parents to provide the school information about their child that will assist in the placement of the child through the use of a Placement Consideration Form. The form asks that you describe the educational setting (academics, behavioral and physical) that you would like to have for your child without naming a particular teacher. It is important to be as detailed as possible stating the type of classroom environment that would most benefit your child. Example: structured, relaxed, hands-on, challenging, quiet, teacher-directed, etc. Please note: When a specific teacher name is included on the form, the form will not be accepted or considered. Click here to access the form. Forms will be accepted through Friday, April 11.
Three Fires Talent Show Permission Slip
Does your child have talent? If so, encourage your child to bring it to the tryouts to vie for a spot in the Three Fires Talent Showcase. Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, April 23 from 4-6 PM. Tryouts are for grades 3-5 only. Each group or solo must have an adult present during tryouts. We value all of our students, but due to time constraints, we will be selecting just a few to showcase their talent. The permission slip below must be turned into your child’s teacher by Monday, April 7. The Talent Show will take place on May 19. Click here to access and print the talent show permission slip.
World of Music Residency and Assembly
Our recent World of Music residency and assembly with Mr. Guy brought an exciting mix of music, mindfulness, and self-regulation to Three Fires Elementary! Students learned how to use breathing techniques to focus their attention and calm their minds—skills they can practice at school, before bed, and first thing in the morning. Each teacher received one of Mr. Guy’s favorite chimes to help students practice these breathing exercises in the classroom. The program also celebrated Native American music and culture in a fun and engaging way, which is especially meaningful for our school, named after the Three Fires Confederacy. During Friday’s musical assembly, students explored music from around the world, including traditions from Native America, Africa, India, and Modern America, while reflecting on how “breathing with gratitude” can help them rest and recharge.
