Thank You for Making Halloween Parade Special!
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for the Halloween parade! We know it’s a long route with 700+ students, but having you there made it all worthwhile. The students had a wonderful time showing off their costumes and seeing your smiles and support.
Secure Vestibule Safety and Security
We want to remind everyone of the important safety and security steps in our school’s secure vestibule. Entrance Protocol: When you enter the building during school hours, please don’t hold the door open for other parents or visitors. Our office staff needs to admit only one visitor or group at a time. This helps us monitor who is coming into the building. Exit Protocol: When leaving the secure vestibule, make sure the office entrance door is fully closed before you open the secure vestibule door. Please do not hold the outside secure vestibule door open for anyone else.
Reminder: No School on Tuesday, November 5 & Late Start on Wednesday, November 6
Please remember there will be no school on Tuesday, November 5, as it is Election Day. Additionally, please note that Wednesday, November 6, will be a late start day. Classes will begin at 10:20 AM. Transportation will be provided, and approximate bus stop times can be found at https://bit.ly/3DDrgym. The goal of the late start days is to allow our staff more frequent professional development opportunities so they will be better equipped to serve our students.
Lost and Found
If you’re attending the second night of conferences, please take a moment to check our lost and found. As the seasons change, our lost and found fills up quickly! To help us keep track of your child’s belongings, please remember to label their clothing, lunch boxes, backpacks, and outerwear. This simple step makes it easier for lost items to make their way back home.
Upcoming PTO Events
Join us for our upcoming PTO meeting on Monday, November 4th at 6 PM in the Media Center. All parents are welcome!
Counselor’s Corner: Ms. Nemeth, School Counselor
As we finish "Make a Plan" month here in Howell, we’d like to encourage you to keep the conversation about college and career options alive at home! Exploring interests together can be a great start—ask your child about their favorite subjects or hobbies and discuss related careers. This helps them see the connection between their passions and future possibilities. If you’re able, visiting a nearby college or vocational school can be a wonderful way to spark excitement and curiosity. Sharing your own career journey can make these conversations more relatable, and personal stories often inspire children. Finally, setting small, achievable goals with your child can help them grow in areas they care about, whether through a project or skill they want to develop. Thanks for supporting your child’s growth and dreams!
Livingston ESA Special Education Millage Vote on November 5
On November 5, voters will decide on the renewal and restoration of the Livingston ESA Special Education Millage. This funding helps fund the costs of services and programs such as unified sports, peer-to-peer programs, assistive technology, and behavioral support. Without the millage, the gap left by limited state and federal funding would need to be filled using general funds, which could impact programs for all students. Learn more about the millage and its impact at https://bit.ly/3yYj7VT.
Help Give a Student in Need a Happy Holiday Season
There is still time to become a sponsor for the Christmas Elf Program, which partners with Livingston County schools and generous sponsors to support underprivileged students in our community during the holiday season. Last year, the program helped over 435 children and families in Brighton Area Schools, Howell Public Schools, and the Livingston ESA. There are two ways to support this excellent program: 1) by sponsoring a student or 2) by making a monetary donation to help provide gift cards for high school students.
