#PackPride
- On December 9th, we kicked off our initial Unified/Peer to Peer event. This event was a social event where our Unified students were able to meet each other, have casual conversations, and make snowflakes! Students’ snowflakes are displayed on the windows of the cafeteria. This initiative is a whole school program that focuses on inclusion through sports and youth leadership and advocacy. Through this initiative we hope to increase academic, independence, and social engagement opportunities for students with autism and other disabilities.
- On December 10th, Mrs. Cain and our robotics teams hosted 25 Lego teams at our first Three Fires Robotics Festival. It truly was a #OneHowell event with students, coaches, and advisors across all grade levels and schools coming together to make this event a success.
- Before the holiday break, we concluded the annual district-wide food drive! We would like to give a special thanks to our students, their families, and our staff for donating so many items to families in need. Thanks to the top three collecting classrooms and their competitive spirit to support such a great cause!
- 1st Place - Mrs. Emme’s Classroom
- 2nd Place - Mrs. Pressel’s Classroom
- 3rd Place - Mrs. White’s Classroom
- Thanks to Howell High School's Highlander Chorale for visiting our school before break! This tradition is one we look forward to each year. Staff and students (680+) singing Silent Night was the highlight of the week!

Thank You School Resource Officers
January 9th is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. At Three Fires, we are lucky to have the support of a fantastic school resource officer, Deputy Marino, from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department. We are also fortunate to have Deputy Thompson as our Attendance Officer. These community leaders work each day to ensure the safety of our students and staff while also building positive and trusting relationships with them!
Counselor’s Corner: Jeanie Nemeth
January has become synonymous with “resolutions.” The fresh start of a new year is a perfect opportunity to do some self-reflection as a family. What is going well? What are we proud of? What traditions do we want to continue? It’s also a good time to look for areas of improvement and growth. As you reflect and make resolve, just remember that “You don’t have to make huge changes and resolutions. Or big decisions. Or big proclamations. You can just set some small, sweet intentions and take each day as it comes” (Victoria Erickson). This is a time for growth and progress, but also grace and self-compassion. Here’s to a peaceful new year!
Transportation Updates
The district continues to deal with staffing shortages in the Transportation Department. This is an issue districts are dealing with in both Livingston County and around the state. Please know the district is aggressively recruiting new drivers through various methods of advertising and recruiting. The staffing shortage has resulted in some route cancellations, which have led to longer drop-off and pick-up times at our school. As the district works to hire and train new bus drivers, please plan a few extra minutes if you are driving your child. If you know anyone interested in becoming a bus driver, please have them visit www.BeABusDriver.com to learn more or apply.
