General Education Aide - Supervising students in the cafeteria and on the playground.

School Start Time and Drop Off Reminders - School Begins at 8:50 AM

As of late, it seems like a lot of students are being dropped off after 8:50 AM in the kiss-n-go area. If you drive your child to school you can start dropping your child off at 8:35 AM.  After 8:50 AM, the kiss-n-go lane is closed.  If a staff member is not present at the circle drive, that means that the main entrance has been locked.  Please park and sign your child in at the main office.  Students are considered tardy if they are signed in from 8:51 - 9:50 AM.  Students are considered absent for the AM session if they are signed in after 9:50 AM.

Counselor’s Corner: Jeanie Nemeth

One of the privileges of being a counselor is experiencing life through the eyes and diversity of many.  In doing so, one of the observations that rises to the top is that every minute of our life provides a second chance, a do-over of sorts, to begin again, to be kind, to reach out to others and to forgive one another.  The list goes on in many meaningful ways of what it means to touch and be touched by humanity.  None of us are immune from circumstances in life that sometimes come and stay too long.  Yet, over time, the big feelings like anger, sadness and fear give way to acceptance and we again find our way.  For many, these challenges soften our view of others and we become more connected with those around us.  In this season of goodwill have you thought about giving yourself, or another, a second chance and, if so, what that might look like and how doing so could enrich your life and the life of others?  This can come in many forms, for example, mending a relationship, reconnecting with old friends who got lost, or a simple act of kindness that sheds light and understanding in someone else’s day. A second for positive self-talk that honors the beautiful person that you are, the work that you do, the relationships you cultivate; a second chance to honor the special person you are and all that you contribute to the lives of those around you.  I wish you and yours fulfillment and peace this holiday season and always.

Livingston County Broadband Survey

Livingston County needs  your help to explore broadband Internet opportunities in our community. The Livingston County Broadband Survey will be closing at the end of the month. The survey has gotten a great response so far, but we would love to have anyone who hasn’t completed the survey to consider doing so. Every response helps Livingston County plan for a better connected future. The survey is quick, easy, and all the information you provide is safe and secure. Take the survey in 5 minutes or less at https://www.merit.edu/livgov/.

COVID-19 Vaccinations

The  Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccination is now approved for children ages five and up. The Livingston County Health Department (LCHD) and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services strongly recommend that all eligible individuals receive a COVID-19 vaccination. The COVID-19 vaccine is widely available locally, and parents or guardians should go wherever works best for their family. COVID-19 vaccines are available from the LCHD, local primary care providers, pharmacies, and pediatrician offices. LCHD recommends individuals use www.vaccines.gov to find a convenient vaccination location. The COVID-19 vaccination is not required to attend school, however fully vaccinated students are exempt from quarantine requirements.
