The Timberwolf Times - December 22, 2023

#PackPride

December has been bustling with festive activities, and we're excited to share the highlights with you!

Santa Shop: The Santa Shop event, a cherished favorite among students, was a success. Witnessing the joy and pride as students selected gifts for their loved ones was heartwarming. A special shout-out to our dedicated PTO and parent volunteers who made this event possible.

Door Decorating Contest: Our holiday door decorating contest, organized by the PTO and participated in by our staff, added a festive touch to the school. Congratulations to the winners:

1st place - Kiss (Mrs. Cieslak)

2nd place - Christmas Story (Mrs. Davis)

3rd place - Snowman Stack (Ms. Austin)

District Holiday Card: Congratulations to Avery Larente and Marlee Dague, who were featured on Superintendent MacGregor's Holiday Card. Their exceptional creativity and attention to detail were truly outstanding.

Holiday Cheer: The 4th Grade Holiday Concerts, led by Katie Welty, showcased our students' talents, spreading joy. Mrs. Davis’ fifth graders added to the festive spirit with a delightful caroling session throughout the school, and the Howell High School's Highlander Chorale brought their magic to our school for a school-wide assembly.

Gratitude: We extend our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. As we embark on 2024, may it be filled with joy.

Holiday Break

This year, our Holiday Break runs from Monday, December 25, through Friday, January 5, with classes resuming on Monday, January 8. During the break, our office and district office hours will be adjusted to accommodate the holiday schedule. If you need to visit our school or the district office during the break, please call before visiting to ensure the office is open on the day of your planned visit.

School Resource Officer Meeting

We’re fortunate to have a strong partnership with law enforcement at Three Fires, with Deputy Marino as our school resource officer and Deputy Thompson as the Attendance Officer. They ensure the safety of our students while fostering positive relationships. On January 9th, Deputy Marino will host a meeting with other school resource officers at Three Fires before school. This is a routine gathering, emphasizing collaboration and safety. We understand the sight of emergency vehicles can be concerning, so we assure you that we communicate promptly whenever such situations arise.

Thank You Robotics Coaches

I would like to extend my gratitude for an incredible season. The Explore teams, led by Crystal, Andrea, Danny, Jason, Justin and Micah, exhibited exceptional leadership. Our festival, held right here at Three Fires for the younger students, was a resounding success. The Challenge teams of our older students, under the guidance of Derrick, Tim, and Clare, showcased commendable performances in the district competitions.  Team “Mechanical Warriors” moved on and made an impressive presence at the state level competition.  Throughout the season, our students gained knowledge in programming, core values, and explored the link between hobbies and their potential as future career paths. None of these achievements would have been possible without the unwavering dedication and hard work of our coaches.  For those interested in joining robotics next year, keep an eye out for the spring showcase event that will take place later in the school year.  Priority for team placement will be given to coaches' children and returning robotic students.  We are actively seeking more parents to volunteer and continue this program. For further information, please reach out to Jill Cain at [email protected].

PTO Updates

Our next meeting will be on Monday, January 8th at 6 PM in the media center.  All parents are invited to attend to learn more about how you can support our PTO and school.

District-wide Food Drive a Huge Success

We are thrilled to share the remarkable results of the recent district-wide food drive supporting Gleaners Community Food Bank. The community's generosity has been overwhelming, with 14,648 pounds of food donated and $9,091.633 in monetary donations. The monetary contributions were matched on Giving Tuesday, doubling our impact to $18,183.26. This effort will provide approximately 72,127 meals to our neighbors in Livingston County. We are immensely grateful for everyone's support during this holiday season.
