Vote November 7

On Tuesday, November 7, our community will vote on the Our Kids, Our Community, Our Future Bond Proposal. If approved, the bond proposal would provide $258 million for improvements to our district, with approximately $7.2  million for our school, while expecting to maintain the current tax rate of 5.5 mills. At Three Fires Elementary, keeping our students safe is our top priority. If approved, the bond proposal would provide funds for upgraded security cameras, building access controls, select door replacement, and new window coverings. Please take a few minutes to visit https://bit.ly/3KTY7Ce to learn about the upgrades Three Fires would see if the bond is approved. To learn more about the bond proposal, please visit HowellSchools.com/Bond. Please remember to vote on November 7 on the Our Kids, Our Community, Our Future Bond Proposal.

Halloween Parade and Costumes

Our annual Halloween parade is scheduled for 10 AM on October 31st, weather permitting. In case of rain, we'll move the parade indoors, inviting parents to watch from the gym.  Students are invited to wear school-appropriate Halloween costumes to school that day. Please adhere to the guidelines: no masks, gore, face paint, or weapons. Costume accessories resembling weaponry are not allowed. Inappropriate costumes will need to be removed.

District-wide Late Start Day - Wednesday, November 1st

Tuesday, November 1st is our second district-wide late start day. On this day, school starts at 10:20 AM.  Please know that our parent drop-off process on this day will start at 10:05 AM.  Even though we are starting late, we will still offer breakfast for students. Three Fires as Precinct Location for Election Day – November 7th

Three Fires will serve as a precinct location for Genoa Township during the Our Kids, Our Community, Our Future Bond Proposal vote. The multi-purpose room will host the voting process, with exclusive entry and exit through its exterior door. For security, voters won't go beyond this area. Additional staff, including School Resource Officer Deputy Marino, will ensure a safe environment for students, monitoring the multi-purpose room, playground, and drop-off/pick-up area. Parents should expect longer lines and potential delays during drop-off/pick-up on Election Day.

Counselor’s Corner: Jeanie Nemeth

As we wrap up our first quarter, this is a great opportunity to chat with your kids about their experiences. Ask them what's been going well lately - whether it's about school, family time, or anything else. Encourage them to share the highlights of the past few months. It could be a fun project they worked on, a new friend they made, or an exciting discovery. These conversations can help you celebrate the good times and strengthen your family bonds.  As you chat with your kids about their recent experiences, it's also a good time to ask if there's anything they wish could have been better in the first quarter. Maybe there were some challenges or moments they found tough. It could be related to schoolwork, friendships, or even just the daily routine. Let them know you're here to listen and support them. These conversations can lead to valuable insights, helping you understand their needs and make positive adjustments together as a family.
